Dear Honey,
You know, eventhough I’ve done this a number of times all ready, I don’t think I’ll ever get over how weird it is that I’m writing to myself. Anyway, this is the last day of the conference and like Chee Yong said, “This is just the beginning… I hope and pray that I won’t forget what I’ve learned in this week.” I told him, “Don’t worry, you won’t.” I’m sure of that.
There were a number of challenges that were raised in the span of 1 week. The challenge to run the race faithfully, to know who we really are, to stand up for Jesus, what is right, and to answer the call, to give up our lives to the One who had given up His so that we may have life. I’ve always wanted to be a missionary and I made a verbal promise that I will be. The Lord help me keep this promise.
Never forget the other people in the world. There are still so many whose lives are empty and they don’t know it. There are still so many suffering in other countries and in ours. Don’t forget CHAD, SUDAN, RWANDA, BURUNDI, SRI LANKA, PERU, CAMBODIA, and OTHER COUNTRIES. Remember all the suffering you’ve heard. Don’t be numb to the pain. Feel the pain, cry with them who are weak, oppressed, and down trodden. Have the heart of compassion to reach out and pray for the people who had given their lives, denied themselves and even died for the sake of telling others about the love of God that can save us from eternal death.
PRAY for other people in different parts of the world, never hesitate to go where God sends you to go. Be unafraid and don’t resist when God takes away all the things that we hold on to dearly but will hinder us from serving Him. Never be stubborn and stupid enough to hold on to that pride. Always remember that we have our identity in God who will never change nor pass away. Dare to stand up in the face of opposition and stare, unblinking, at death in the eye. Hold on to the joy that comes from denying yourself and serving God.
Remember the people whose lives touched you and keep in touch with them. PANG, PEGGY, EU PUI, GORO, AND CHAN CHUAN, the people in your small group, and to the other people you meet.
Never be satisfied with where you are unless that you are sure you are where Jesus wants you to be. Tell other people about Jesus and never grow tired of doing that until the Lord comes.
Please never grow complacent again and don’t fall back to the old vices of the past. Keep on growing and never assume that you know enough, and keep on praying!
Honey =)
