God of New Things

“Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the desert and streams in the wasteland.” Isaiah 43:18-19
There was never a time in my life that i didn’t know of Jesus, His cross, and His love. I grew up in a Christian family, my parents are active church leaders, and i remember my mom and i having talks over an open Bible since i was seven years old. So i guess you can say that I was never not a Christian.
So when asked for my conversion story, i didn’t know where to begin. mom said i had accepted Christ when I was four years old, but since i couldn’t remember that, i did it again and committed my life to Him in ELIMS summer children’s camp when I was eight. I had no line to to separate my past before Christ and compared to some Christians, my story’s not that exciting to hear.
But what I have learned and seen in 27 years of knowing the true God of the Universe and His all compassing love is that He is constantly at work on us, revealing more and more of Himself every single day. Sure, I’ve been singing the songs, I’ve known the Bible stories by heart by the time I was done with pre-school, but actually experiencing His faithfulness, His mercy, His grace? i still get surprised every day at how much more awesome my God is than i thought He was the day before.
After 27 years, I survey the field and the path that He has called me to walk on. I look back and see there are a lot of stuff that i had done I’m really not proud of, but He’s covered that with forgiveness and grace. After 27 years, I thought that I would be done, that everything would be steady from here on, that I would’ve already settled down on a career path, my own family, and my ministry. Instead, He put me in a new ball game– at 27!
“See, I am doing a new thing!” His Word declares. and i am just shaking my head in wonder. my Lord, my God, You have shown me so much already– you mean there’s more?! I can’t wait.
Good thing, I still don’t look my age. haha
What are the new things God has been doing in your life? If you feel like you’re in the doldrums, that you’re stuck in a rut. All you have to do is ask– just be sure you know what you’re asking for, because God’s going to take it seriously. it’s gonna be tough, it’s gonna be exciting,
and i can promise you, it’s gonna be LEGEN—-wait for it!—DARY!

im… alive!!!! mwahahaha!
back to blogging again. check my blog.
re: musta na ako, check my blog. hehe.
hahaha. nag-plug pa talaga ng blog.
side note: that’s a problem we should always be aware in the youth ministry, just because the family’s christian does not mean the kid may have already been saved.
