juan down

sorry… it’s a pun waiting to happen.
the other night, my seester and i went for a drive to tagaytay for a dinner with her boyfriend at T House tagaytay. yes, it’s not unusual that the big sister is included in their dinner plans, but what seester wasn’t aware of was that i knew much more about that night than she did. she didn’t know that i had packed two overnight bags and had tossed them in the trunk, or that her boyfriend had been planning for this dinner for weeks now, complete with plans A to Z.
And so after the fireworks had died down, and much laughter from the room upstairs where jorem proposed to sherie, we celebrated their engagement over a glorious T House dinner (yes, that’s my word for it, see also “scrumptious,” “awe-inspiring”) with friends April (COO of T House and sherie’s long-time college friend)and Nikko (who was Jorem’s assistant for the night) complete with a toast with sparkling grape juice and a few pictures.
the ring is really pretty. and i have nothing but unadulterated happiness for my seester and jorem. i am honestly excited for their wedding, with a tiny pinch of dread that my sister will be taking nimmy with them after. i think it will be a while before people’s jibes about me being a matandang dalaga will get to me (like when i’m really old na and still a dalaga). i still can’t help but smile whenever i think about it– and laugh when the titas say, “Akala mo masarap ang may asawa?!” hahaha

Don’t worry Honey! You and I both will be matandang dalagas. At least I think Sherie’s a few months younger than me if not the other way around. In any case, her getting married doesn’t make me feel so young anymore. Haha! My mom told me about it last week when we met up in Paris for the French Open. I’ll copy this post to her.
Send the fiancée my congratulations!!!
