yeah.
after days and days of laboring for a sentence to begin an advertorial about the kick-ass condo model unit where i had my birthday party (i’ll post my pictures soon) two sundays ago, i am now in The Zone.
of course, it doesn’t necessarily mean i was able to write the aformentioned advertorial as soon as i got in The Zone. Rather, I wrote about a moonchild, because that’s what The Zone likes. The Moonchild with a “voice silver light, laced in the night, a soul stripped down to its very core.” I just love to string words like that together, even if they may not count much in a feature article. In fact, i’m not sure if they would survive my editor’s cold-blooded editing. But at least I’ve let them live, even for just a short time.
while i do love my job, it usually takes me away from the Zone and chains me down to write cold, solid articles about business men–who are all interesting and successful in their own right, but don’t belong in my other world of dreamcatchers, spider webs, monsters, candles, cradle moons, falling stars, mist-laced mountains, and the sea. words and sentences and thoughts from the Zone may not make sense, but it is only when i’m in it that i could follow them with a light hand.
right now, in the empty editorial office, i can only float in the Zone for a only little while longer. I smile and close my eyes as I touch its words with my fingertips and let them drift away before i strap myself down to my chair and wrestle with another article. The Zone disdains business articles, press releases, advertorials, boring important people, and consciously writing for a critical audience, so i would have to leave it soon to face them.
the room is frigid, silent but the clicking of my keys. outside, the world marches on. sunlight braves the clouds to reach into my window and hold my hands for just a few heartbeats more.
here, i am never truly alone.

wow, sa condo ka nag-party?
i’m planning to get one by december, pero syempre malapit sa work ko. sana matuloy siya. gusto ko na mabuhay mag-isa! ;p
hehehe. not exactly a condo… it’s a model unit.
